Biography

Maria Korolkova, born in Riga, Latvia, comes from a family of musicians, with her mother being a renowned piano teacher. By six, she entered Emils Darzins Music College receiving an exceptionally rigorous education that included deep knowledge of music history and monthly performances across national and international stages for 13 years.

Graduating with honors, she enrolled at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music achieving the highest possible scores. During her studies under the guidance of prof. S. Osokins, she honed her virtuosic piano skills and expanded her experience as a soloist and chamber musician, performing across Europe in countries such as Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, France, Spain, Italy, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Armenia.

Following her Bachelor's degree, Maria sought to broaden her musical perspective by focusing on accompaniment and vocal coaching. In 2016 she moved to Leipzig, Germany, where she continued her education at Felix Mendelssohn University of Music and Theatre under the guidance of Prof. A. Schmalcz. During her studies, Maria immersed herself in opera staging, participating in productions of both classical and contemporary works.

Maria's pursuit of knowledge and new artistic perspectives led her to achieve three Master’s degrees in Music, excelling in both piano performance and coaching. Driven by a deep passion for continuous learning, she is currently pursuing a PhD in Performance of Musical Arts at the Latvian Academy of Music, where she is further advancing her research and performance techniques.

Throughout her career, Maria has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to musical excellence, international collaboration, and expanding her artistic horizons. Her diverse experiences as both a performer and educator continue to shape her approach to music.
